Maple Icing
Ingredients
- 2 egg whites
- 1/2 c. maple syrup
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 tsp. vanilla (added later)
Method
In top of double boiler, combine ingredients. Cook over boiling water, beating constantly with mixer until mixture stands in peaks. Add 1 tsp. vanilla. Combine beating until thick. Spread.
